This past week we went to St. George, and Cedar City for our first vacation with Elliot. I was amazed at how much extra stuff we packed this year when we only had one extra person, and he is so small! We managed to get everything in though, and we were off. Elliot did amazing on his first vacation. He loved being able to explore his new environment, and crawled all over the place whenever he could. He slept great, even being in new places, which made Trevor and I very happy! We had a lot of fun! Here are some of the highlights:
Leaving the house... We weren't sure how he would do on such a long car ride, but we hoped for the best!
Road trips are awesome! He did great in the car, and a little over half way there, we stopped for lunch at Cove Fort. They had tables, grass, and trees... it was a perfect spot for a picnic.
He got to crawl around for a bit, after being stuck in his car seat for so long. He isn't a big fan of grass, but he was enjoying his freedom anyway.
We took a tour of the fort while we were there. It was really neat, and we enjoyed it. I would recommend stopping there if you are going by. It is a great place, even if you don't go on the tour.
Elliot in the car. I caught him making some pretty funny faces... I guess he knows how to keep himself entertained!
St. George Temple
We went hiking one morning... it gets hot fast down there!
We stopped by the cemetery where my grandparents are buried.
We went to Jack in the Box, and got some shakes. It is hard to see, but I put the cherry in his mouth. He loved it! All you can see is the stem poking out!
On Friday we met up with everyone, and went out to Tuacahn. We saw Aladdin, and it was amazing! It is incredible the things they are able to do on that stage!
Swimming! We had fun at the pool, but I forgot my camera, so all we have is the 'after swimming' picture.
We met up with the Shields (Trevor's mom's side of the family) and had a lot of fun at the reunion. I guess we were so busy visiting and having fun that we didn't pull out the camera and get any pictures. Hopefully someone got some pictures and we can get a copy. Elliot had fun playing with his 'cousins' (2 of Trevor's cousins have babies close to his age). Trevor and I really enjoyed getting caught up, sharing stories, laughing, and just playing games with the family. I especially had a great time getting to know everyone so much better. Thank you to everyone who was there and made it so much fun! What a great family that I get to be a part of!
Fun! We've rocked a lot of St. George trips with Avs in her short little life (my sister lives there). Your baby's road trip outfit is adorable!
